mpc1000 and midi question

i am new to the forum i have read alot on the forum about midi but i would like to know can i sample a sound to my mpc and then use my midi keyboard to tune the sound like the 16 level tune with the pad but with the keyboard then record it as midi.like if i recorded a single note from a keyboard and then jus use my midi keyboard to actually make that one sample 61 or 49 keys. like kanye does it with the asr. plzz help n thanx

If you have the JJOS, it has "auto-chromatic" pad assignment. (hope i said that right) THis will lay the sample out across the keyboard at different pitches. Other than that you would have to setup a program where you would assign the sample to each midi key/pad and manually tune it yourself. Hope this helps
