Yo peps Ive got the mk1, Im thinking of getting the roland fantom keyboard and some type of computerware like cakewalk, fuity loops etc. Is this a good combination or do you suggest other. Im going to cap this at 2 grand :)

i'd go for hd recorder, like the dps12i from akai, so you can stay away from your computer, it doules as a mixer for your mpc, you can get one cheap these days, with the build in fx and a hd..Look for a cheaper keyboard without sequencer and sampler as you got them in the mpc, like a yamaha S30, great sounds lots of controls...and again cheap that should get you going for under a G.....then you canalways use your comp to use as the masterrecorder and for burning cd's/ sample storage.

2nd the PC...the MPC is made for using a PC to do all the editing, not having one is like having only 1/2 the mpc in my book.

If your doing live & studio, get a PC interface that doubles as a mixer. keeps your setup clean and no reconfiguration needed.

Get some good editing software ...its a gr8 combo with the MPC. I personally like Bias Peak or Recycle. Have fun man...geez $2g's!
