Bad Q link Sliders??

I Got a second hand Mpc 1000, but it seems have an issue with the q-link sliders. To test the q sliders I switched the MPC to diagnostics mode (Hold "shift") then press D, C, B, A which brings up the pad test page (jjos free does not have this). Ok now here's the thing When tap the pads I get a number ranging from 1 to 125 or so this represents how hard I hit the pad, but when I move the Q link slider I get seemingly random numbers as I move the fader's up and down. What I would expect is for the number to increase as I move the slider up and to decrease as i move the slider down.

Is this a software or hardware issue and what is the best fix.
