MPC 1000 DRUM TRIGGERING

Hi, I just got my mpc 1000 and was wondering how you go about using it with acoustic drum triggers?

The desired effect is; when the kick is struck the mpc simultaneously plays the sample of my choice. I understand how triggers physically work, I'm just uncertain of how to connect the mpc and trigger. I assume that it has to be by midi? If so do I need a cv to midi converter? or is there a trigger set that uses midi/has a midi out that I can connect my mpc with? Or maybe a cable that I haven't discovered yet?

I'd really appreciate any direction on this.

there are several older trigger to midi converters out there. thats what i would suggest.

Thanks man, is that a roland tmc-6 (tcm?) type thing then, or is there a cheaper option that you know of?

i have seen them in use before but i dont know any details. sorry

TMC-6 is a nice Trigger-To-Midi converter.
I own 2 and have had no problems with it.
