dust under the pads?

Hi everyone
Got question. I goy my mpc since 6 months (bought newone from the store), didn't use so much, last 2 months didnt use it at all, finally I turned on my mpc and pads just dont work like before, there is no sensivity like before.
I know that mpc 1000 got worst pads ever and need to be replaced by newones but think is I did not use them so much. Is there any possibilities that dust can get under pads or somthing? is any way to clean this?

Take the machine apart and see. I say get the new pads anyway.
