Hey beatmakers!
I'm new to the forums... I've been making beats with Ableton and an MPD24 for about a year, but I'm looking to upgrade to the real deal after watching a bunch of YouTube videos featuring the 1000 and 2500.
I did read the sticky thread about CF and RAM, and I got a lot of info about the RAM upgrade (thanks for that!) but I couldn't find a consistent answer about the maximum CF capacity.
These days, you can get a 32gb CF card for $80. I would like to get a couple 16GB cards and those should last me forever, more than likely (I would guess at least 100 songs... some longer samples, most hits and one-shots).
It seems to be confirmed that JJOS can run up to 16gb cards... anyone know if the standard AKAI OS can? I am sure I'd upgrade to the JJOS if and when I get my MPC, but I'm just wondering.
What's the maximum CF you guys have got to run without any problems? And please be specific about brands and capacity, and provide a link to the online retailer if possible.
Thanks all... great to be here. I am sure I'll be spending a ton more time (and posting a ton more) in the future. I am also working on some YouTube video tutorials about general music production with computers and other home studio stuff. I'll keep you guys posted with any news.
