question on hard drive installations

i just got the kit

i have an old sony vaio laptop with a burned motherboard but the drive is still good, 80 gb

i also have a western digital external hard drive usb 120 gb

can i use either of these drives with the kit to install into my mpc 1000?

just pop in the laptop drive and see if it works. you will need to format the drive once its in there. and i hope you werent serious about where to find google.
