Manipulating pad's s0und?

Lets say i wanted 2 make a sample last longer when i press the pad, for example if i want 2 make the sound of a synth last longer is there a way 2 hold the pad down 2 make the sound stays?
I tried timestretch but did not really work maybe i did it wrong, so if any1 knows how plz help.

look up 'alt loop' in trim mode. look up 'note on' and 'one shot' in program.

Depending on the OS you've got.....in Trim Mode you can set the synth sample you're using to Loop On, then in Pgm Mode, press Window and change the sample to Note On.....I think.
