any1 having trouble with loops not being perfectly on time

yea i usually have a problem with having things i want to loops exactly on time, and i mean a milisecond, not bad, but just enough for it to sound f*cked. i was wondering was benefits and losses have people found to composing songs completely as one long sequence or piecing things together in song mode?

it just takes practice to learn how to loop proper. Say if you got a 2 bar loop that you want to use of a record record for 2beats =1/2 a bar before the 2 bar sample and 1/2 bar after the sample. So when you trim you can visably see the loop

Adjust the tempo of the sequence and the tuning of the sample, you will eventually get it right.

I like making small sequences and then putting it all together in song mode. It's easier for when realize you want to do some re-arranging. As far as things not being on time...look into your step mode screen. With enough patience you should be able to get your sounds exactly where you want them in that screen.

Step recording is the way to go if you know how to do it, i unfortunately dont know how to do it. I never had any problems in real time. My mp 7 has grid! WTF? I would like to learn sometime.

i got a method that works well for me..

personally.. i always sample a couple of seconds more than im going to use, then set the sample to 'note on' make sure the start of the loop hits exact when u hit the pad.. then put decay on the sample to about 20.. then match up the tempo of my drums.. this makes makes the loop flow well and gets rid of any blips of silence at the end or 'pops' in the loop.

i started using sounds forge and for me thats the easiest was to clean up and edit my shit. i haven't started yet, but you can also create sounds in sound forge(synthesizing.) that program seems really good and thorough.

chop that sh!t into pieces and than make it fit.

i wasn't talking about a sample fitting i was talking about a track fitting in the designated bars
