Mode Button Repair/F4 Button Repair

Hey Guys Quick Question

My MODE button and F4 BUTTON do not work. Everytime I press the F4 button there is no reaction and my mode button only reacts after about 20 times of pressing it. Do you guys have any tips or tricks on how to fix this? or am I out of luck and need to have it repaired? Also do you know the average prices VST will charge. (In case someone has had their MPC worked on by them). I tried to contact them but they have not gotten back to me yet.

its either the plastic button or the tact switch under it. Either way its a pretty easy fix. You should do it yourself, its not hard at all

Any suggestions on how to fix the tact switch?, im pretty sure that is what it is. Because I have taken the plastic button off and still it does not work. Is there any tutorials or videos. Thanks

i have a cursor button playing up too. i took the 1000's cover of the other day but i couldnt get the grey button off to look at the tact switch...i was pulling an pulling and didnt want to force it too much !!! Any advice? Cheers guys!

you have to slightly squeeze in both "legs" towards the back of the buttons, there are little hooks on the legs that keep them on the board.

The tact swich just needs to be desolderd, then a new one needs to be soldered in. Put it this way, it will take you longer to drop the MPC off at the post office than it will to change the part yourself. I dont know about any videos but the repair is straight forward. You will need some basic tools but it will still be cheaper than paying someone. Plus at least now youll have the know-how for when another button fails.

Yea the actual buttons just press in and press out. SOMETIMES THEY BREAK..but they are cheap enough that it shouldnt ruin your day...lol
