recording mpc -> pc (mpc 1000)

Hi. I am wondering how i can record my work at the mpc 1000 to pc.

with the time u took to draw up that diagram, you could have found the answer by doing a little searching. this question gets asked once a week.

audacity...you already have the set up for it..just use audacity its a freebie

According to the diagram you dont have an audio interface. You will either need one or use a "Y" adaptor to go to the line in on the computer

yo. That you see under there is my mixer. you can see that i dont got it hooked up like that at all.
anyways, im trying to record my beat from the mpc to my pc and i got my pc plugged where the "dat recorder" is supposed to be "rec out"
that should be right, right? ^^ ..still i aint gettin any sound on my pc

what program are you using to try to record?

I have had the same problem with my mixer (crappy lil alesis) if your running your 2track out to your pc sometimes you gotta mess with the 2track to mix button and the 2track to ctrl room buttons, sometimes having one or both pressed will work or cut it off, also make sure in your pc, it is set up to record the line in, or stereo mix, sometimes it defaults to mic in. hope that helps somewhat, its hard to say though without knowing what kinda interface you got on the pc.

btw you said you got the pc hooked up to the 2 track in, but in your picture up above it only shows the pc connected to the line in on your mixer and the usb on the mpc. if your running the sound back into the mixer from the pc, its sometimes easier just to use the 2 track ins and outs to both go to the pc and use the 2 track to ctrl room button to monitor it..

well. thanks, but my pc does not get any sound input obiously... :S

ive got a cable from 2T RTN (mixer) to line in at my computer.. i should work right...?!

ok heres a simple solution if u havent done so..

look in the top of audacity on the right hand side,theres a box that says "what you hear" or "line in"

if you havent tried switching that,try now.

and let me know so i can move to next step..

make sure u play the mpc while trying to switch "what you hear" and "line in"

woho, i got it working. sorry cant tell what i did actually. pushed alot of butons

but yeh. its working now.. so i will post u a link so you can hear the loop ive made:P its really simple with a sample but
