can't play 2 pads at once...even if on different tracks???

Hey, this may be a noob question, but I am having problems recording a performance. Say I just want to record a simple drum beat, I get the click going, and record the bass and snare drum, then when it loops i want to overdub the hihats...but it wont let me play on a beat where I already have played either a bass and snare hit..or it overwrites the bass and snare drum. even if i have the instruments on seperate tracks!! Anyone know how to fix this or why it is happening? thanks alot for the Help!

ok, it seems that when I use the preloaded 808 kits etc it works fine, but it doesnt let me play 2 pads at once when its a loop i have chopped up myself....anyone know what im doing wrong?? thanks

Same Problem. Just recently began chopping in the MPC and ran into the same problem. In the future I will make sure the sample is not stereo, other than that I am not sure why this is happening. jjos1

Your program i set to mono. Change it to poly.
