What do u kids think- MPC1000/DJ use...

want opinions....
-I figure to run this by all you's experts on the MPC, since I am new to it. I am a rock/progressive metal DJ and use a dr-202 (for drum kicks) and a sp-303 for sampling at live gigs (also have a 2 table setup,mixer). Went ahead and bought a MPC1000. The pads are tiny on the sp303/dr202, but i noticed sampling not as cut and dry as roland style. I do like the larger pads and theIs this baby worth learning and working with?

We're not all kids here...! I bought the MPC1000 because it looked more flexible and not limited to techno, hip-hop, or any one style, and I've not been disillusioned so far. It does a good job on rock drums with the right samples, the free Akai XR10 kit is surprisingly impressive too.

I'm trying to imagine what a progressive metal DJ sounds like... can you even get Dream Theater on vinyl? I should try sending YTSE JAM through Recycle to the MPC1000, should be, um, interesting!

Just kiddin, yeah it seems like this unit is pretty strong and could take alot of abuse compared to other samplers,etc.

It is strong! The 1000 is built like a tank. It can take a lot of abuse! Not like I abuse mine though!

I'm really happy with it, it's solid, and it's not overwhelming like an RS-7000 or all-in-one thing...
