I just bought an mpc 1000 from guitar center without a manual, i downloaded manual from this website and noticed that my mpc does not have all the features that the manual describes (such as: timestretching, tempo detection, slicing samples, etc.). the manual refers to the sample edit field to get these options but the only options i have in my mpc for this field are discard, normalize, and extract. I'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong or if I need to install the operating system? I'm new to the mpc and I really appreciate the help on this, it's been a frustrating couple of days trying to figure out the manual....thanks much

the manual you've downloaded must be for the JJOS... if you want the regular akai manual, just google it... it can be found at the akai website. the JJOS is a far superior operating system than the akai one... i'll leave it at that since there is so much information about it that can be found if you simply try.

It actually sounds like you have a much older akia OS. You need to go back to the akai website and download the newest OS which i believe is 2.12. Earlier akai OS's did not have timestretch and other features.
