Recording into MPC prob.

when recording from my mac to the mpc with the 1/8th to RCA, with 1/4" adapters, im having a weird problem. when i plug the cable into the mpc, i barely hear anything at all, but if i pull the cable half way out of the mpc, i can hear it great. whats up with that?

sounds like the wrong cable and or adaptor. The 1/8th side (assuming its for the computer) should have 2 rings on it and the MPC side should each have only 1

oh no man tell me youre not recording from the sh!tty stock computer output? do you have spdif? can you render or capture and transfer as wav?

well i had it plugged into the stock jack, but i do have an external sound card that i used with my laptop (iMic). i didnt have this problem when i used that. i just didnt bother looking for it cause i was just messing around with something real quick.

i should probably get some proper cables. everything i have is just old stuff i had laying around.

i say check them rings.

yeah it was the rings. some of my 1/4 adapters had two rings and some had one. i used the ones that had 1 ring and it worked fine.

it worked that way but if the cables moved any you got static.
