rookie questions

just looked up in the search jawn and came up a bit confused.

either answer the question or point me in the right directions, anything is appreciated.

basic stuff:

Change Pad sounds, Load Sounds and Loop a sample. Went through the manual and got a bit confused and no i wasn't reading the japaneese section...thanks in advance.

to tell you the truth i think the 1000 has the easiest to read manual. period. I mean, you can learn it without the manual easy. Just take your time damn.

without ever really using a MPC other then beating the pads at GC, then I DL the Manual and printed it out and just read it over and over again like 8 times now I can go to GC and go thru the menus and start tracks just from READING the manual. I've never owned a MPC or anyother kind of other Production Hardware or Software.

thanks to both of you. ima hands on learner, so manuals throw me off when i am looking for one specific thing.

i promise i will read the manual 8 times over to make it happen...

do you know what to do to get to the screen to change the sounds on the pads? It says how to record the performance but skips over how to assign the sounds to the pad and how to add sounds to the machine from where ever.

I am creating a beat on separate tracks, but the sounds that are assigned to the pads are wack and i can't seem to find the window to assign the sounds to the pads.

i will keep reading, but if someone can point me in the right directions, i'd appreciate it.

Hit the little button that says MODE

Then hit the pad that says RECORD

Hit the tab on the screen that says RECORD

Press the little button that says MODE

Hit the pad that says Program

Hit the pad you want to assign your sample to and turn the wheel till PHAT DISCO BEAT appears - hit window and and turn the data wheel until it says NOTE ON

Call your boy back, see if he's got chronic, borrow twenty bucks from your girl, get on the bus, hook it up, go home and pretend your Carl Cox making beats with Christian!

Try and concentrate on learning the mpc pieces at a time.
1)sample
2)trim
3) sequence
etc
etc

Learn the whole sections sub-menus and all mess around with stuff and see what it does if you still have questions check the manual, then post or search and odd s are someone else already asked that question. Peep that dude sterioid link for troubleshooting/FAQ
