silver vs. black back plates

i know the 1000's with the silver back plates are a little older than the ones with the black back plate, but if an MPC1000 has a black back plate, does that mean it has the pad upgrade as well?

i dunno if thats true, it's just hard to tell when your looking at ebay postings and the seller has no idea if his unit has the upgrade or not.

no it doesnt mean that. i was just flirting with a sale with a black backplate and it didnt have the upgrade. i think peeps are wise and youll pay one way or another if you want the upgrade.

strange, somone probley upgraded em if you bought that one used. i just know that the black back plates are the current models.

its hard buying a used 1000, none of these sellers know if they have the upgrade or not. might just have to take a chance on what that looks really nice or has a good price or something

I've also got the one with a silver backplate and new pads. I remember how my jaw dropped when it arrived by mail, I opened the box and saw the model number BK instead of BK-N. Thank god it didn't matter.

damn not even the serial number matters anymore...shit is just a shoot or miss i guess
