I installed JJOS...but I need to back up and study the Akai OS some more. However, I can't seem to restore the factory defaults. I've tried holding down the erase button on startup...and I've held it down for awhile...and released it at varioius points...and I'm just not getting anything on the restoration front.

Any ideas?

you cant just hold down the erase button and magically have the akai os back. im not being a smart ass. the same way you installed the jjos is the way you need to revert it back to the akai os. and after you do anything that was in the flash memory like seq and pgm files will be gone so you will have to resave them from your factory flash card too. but you should just walk away from the akai os and work with the jj. cause you will not learn anything in the stock that you cant learn in jj. you will just get acustomed to the workflow of the jj faster if you dont go back.

Aight, that's a good point...but I'm not really trying to drop the money on JJ until I learn the shit I already have, you know?

So...I guess I'm wondering how to get the Akai OS back...
