1000-bk pads, wierd feeling

hey my older type pads still work, and i dont have to hit them as hard as lots of people describe,
BUT they are very uneven and i always use FULL LEVEL on because
there is no even feel in playing without it. the sensitivity is then diff in every hit and it kind of makes me angry

so to you who did have the old pads , did u ever experienced anything similar?
and did the padupgrade for 180$ make you happy?

yeah I've got the crap pads - I get the same thing. Pisses me off. Just do the pad upgrade and it should sort itself out.

hm how do u know it will sort itself out if you still havent bought the new ones yrself?

bought the pad upgrade..waited 2 months...no problems installing it, but it certainly wasn't worth the money.

so the fact that your pads feel better and won't die now isn't worth anything?

if the other pads didn't suck you would have never bought the upgrade in the first place.

i'm not saying it's ok for AKAI to charge that much for what in reality is their own design flaw... but to say that there's no difference between the pads is a bit of an ignorant statement.

Because I've used the MPC2000XL, MPC60, MPC1000blk and I can feel the difference in using them. It's not rocket science...

The upgrade feels better. Pads are softer. But the pads do not response as good as the normal sized pads.

I said F the pad upgrade......200 bucks for somethin that Akai should have done in the first place......Boo to Akai......

Tho I did buy an MPD ...which has the same pad set up as the 2000 etc...

That was only 100 dollas......so ....

meant to say many peeps who copped the pad upgrade say the shit feels just the same and they are still having problems with pad response.

but someone said that they are softer not sure if this is a pyschological thing (ie peeps spend 15o they want it to feel better)

but from my understanding the reason for the pad upgrade from akia's perspective was to eliminate the issue of pads going dead not to give peeps softer pads.

true, but the pads they chose to fix it with also happen to be softer.

the new pads are loads better. even if you compare the old pads working at their optimum.

Anyone who has the new pads and isn't satisfied should really do the mod thats mentioned on these boards. Makes then so, so much better. As sensitive as you could wish.
