new pads on black mpc do not feel good

Hi everybody,
I have a black mpc 1000 with the new pads.
However those pads feel very hard. I can't use them without full level.
I also tried to change sensitivity but it didn't help a lot. Right now all pads are on 25.
Anybody experienced this before? I read a lot about those pads, that they fix the problem, and feel much more like those older mpc pads, but for me, you need to hit the pads like a brute to have a sound come out.

I have a the same MPC, I do not have to hit the pads hard at all.

i used to have to put full level on to get decent output, but after i upgraded to OS1 and adjusted the settings properly they work great. very responsive, no more full level needed

Not sure about the nu-akai OS, but with JJOS you use a combination of settings to get the pads responding to your liking. With JJOS there's also a pad-on level setting as well as velocity sensitivity and pressure sensitivity. My pads feel great and are super responsive. (note: i did do the silicone fix that Nym described to enhance the responsiveness of the pads)
You never mentioned what OS you are using? I do know that you need akai's latest OS or JJOS for the pads to work correctly. Check and make sure you dont have an older OS installed.

Well, actually I am using the free JJ OS. Maybe I need to upgrade to solve the problem?
I must say, that I also owned a blue mpc earlier, and it had a better sensibilty than the one I use right now.

Check sensitivity. If not you may have a bad machine on your hands.

for the right responsitivity with the new pads u need to upgrade to jjos 1
Responsitivity sucks with the free version, even if u have the new pads.
The latest Akai OS also supports the new pads

Thanks for the info. I think I will try to go back to the Akai OS , just to give it a try and see if there is any difference.

@ perudo - i just upgraded to JJOS1, and the pad adjustment is a thousand times better than in free JJ or akai OS1. something to consider. peace.

i had the same problem with the pads being really hard, but either i got used to them or they've broken in
