Hi there,

Has anyone here had problems with distorted sound on the MPC1000 when it's playing a lot of samples at the same time?

I ask cause I have this problem on my ElectribeSX and it bothers me a lot.
One of my friends own a MPC4000 and he says that he never had any problems with distorted sound on it. And that the MPC's in the past (the ones he tried anyway) had.

I'd like to buy a MPC1000 because of the portability of it, but if the sound distorts when I perform on it that would be a real let-down.

I read the posts on "Anyone here go from 4000/3000/2000(XL) to 1000?" some time ago but that didn't answer my concerns.

Any views?

Try turning down the volume on each sample...your adding up all those sounds digitally, and they are just too loud to represent with the number width in the electribe.

You could have the same problem in the MPC. That's why the MPC defaults each individual sample to 70%..say you have 20 samples looping and playing over each other, they can add up to too large a volume...and you get distortion.

After this, just pan your sound in different level at right or left.. it will help.
