RAM Upgrade Boot Error

So I bought and installed a PC 133 144PIN CL3 SODIMM 256MB.

But when I power on the MPC the MPC1000 BootBlock kicks in and I get the following message:

"Boot on SODIMM memory check mode
Total Memory Size = 128MBytes
Check memory......
pass 1 : failed(8c00000)
The problem was found in memory.
Please check the memory.
system halt....."

Anyone have any idea what I can do? The RAM is brand new. So is the MPC. I have JJ OSXL.

gently remove the ram and gently re-seat it.

have you checked the compatibility sticky to be sure your RAM plays fair with the 1k?

Yes, I read the sticky and double checked that I got the right type of RAM. The brand is Apacer and the sticky said any brand, so. I'm out of ideas...
