Free-running LFO?

It would be nice to use the LFO in the MPC to modulate something very slowly so that, for example, a filter sweeps on a synth over a few bars. Unfortunately the LFO is reset with each note-on so that each note sounds identical.
Is there an option somewhere to make the LFO free-running, independent of note-on messages?
