Manual Chopping

HI,
I have a question , referring to Akai os or jjos2 , it doesnt matter .
Is it possible to add "Slice Markers" manual?
If not , what is the best way to edit a sample manually.

Is there a fast way to change the play mode[oneshot/noteon] an the release time ? can i make some kind of shortcuts?
and if i have 2 samples one one the pad 1 the other on pad2 , what have i to do , that the sample one stops when i push the pad 2. i dont want overlapping .

if you hit mode-- program-- F3(params), you can then change either the program or a specific pad from polyphonic to monophonic. or you can change between onshot/noteon by hitting mode-- program-- and then selecting the sample you want and hit WINDOW. from there you can change it.
