MPC1K MPCStuff.com Pad Upgrade - Double/tripple ghost notes

I just received my package with the newest version of the MPC1000 Pad Upgrade from MPCStuff.com

I MUST say that i LOVE that shop. The service IS awesome, I got quick and precise answers for even the most stupids questions I asked the poor guy.
and they have EVERYTHING you will EVER need for your MPC; EVEN complete mainboards and that kind of stuff. You could easily build a complete MPC1000 only with parts from MPCStuff.com

So I installed the new pads; that is I removed the old pads, disconnected 2 plugs from the factory pads to main board (or whatever). And connected the new pads to the samme 2 plugs (you simply CAN'T connect them wrong, the plugs won't go in if you're not doing right)

BUT then came the first surprise; the pads aren't held down to the sensors with screws or anything like the Akai Factory ones. The factory ones are held very firmly down to the sensors with screws and stuff.
The only thing holding the new Pads down are some rubber "rivets" that comes out from the bottoms of the pad plates and the go trough som 6 holes, and then the pads are also kept in place by the pressure of the unit casing itself when that is screwed back on.
But after the unit is fully assembled, you can "jiggle" with the pads and the top row you can lift up a few milimeters.

But even so the pads work okay, they don't make the same amout of double/tripple ghost notes as the old pads, BUT they DO make those anoying double/triple ghost notes. When you record stepwise in JJ OS2 Grid Mode, it sometimes makes 3 identical notes and move the cursor say 3 x 1/8 notes.

Does any of guys have any ideas how to solve these problems?

With JJ OS you can adjust pad sensitivity.

Also you can try taking an old record, cutting the cover up into small squares, and using double-sided tape to stick them to the sensor board. Then put the pads on top of that. There's a small gap between the bottom of the pad and the sensor board, and you get more accurate triggering if you fill the gap. Others have used silicon filler.

cosign on the JJ os to stabilize the triggering. As far as making the sensor stick. You can use double sided tape but I would use the real thin type. The foam-backed one may be a bit much. As far as the gap I used adhesive dots to fill the gap. Some pads needed more than others. Now that I have them dialed in my pads are flawless.

I don't understand....can I put little cardbord squares on the sensor itself? Does it not need to be hit by the RUBBER pads to "sense" a hit or does it just need to be hit by SOMETHING?

The cardboard is stiff. It transfers the force of the hit to the sensor. It just fills the gap between the bottom of the pad and the sensor board for more accurate triggering.

im waiting for the padupgrade now. my old pads actually work kind of ok but i have to hit them quite hard on full velocity
but i payed the 200$ mostly to get rid of those F*****´ double ghost notes...

why the hell did people tell me they solved that problem if they do not . my gawd

pupusa.revolution >> I still have double notes with the pad upgrade, but NOT nearly as often as with the old pads. But if press the [FULL LEVEL] button i get alot more double notes, but that may be because all the notes get the velocity, so i hear double notes that I wouldn't have heard beacuse they had a very low velocity.

To sum up, the pad upgrade didn't work for me, but it DIT work for quite alot of people which are now very happy with the result.

Can anyone tell me if the MPC1000BK is completely flawless about doule/triple notes?

Don't buy just the MPC1000BK version....buy the one which states MPC1000BK-N as these have the upgraded pads...and not just the BK version.

now its 15nov and they still havent arrived. usually shipping
us - sweden is within one week. *suck*

Did you also receive a status update that your order was shipped....or are you still waiting for a confirmation.

FYI

BK-N does not guarantee 100% that you will end up with new pads. If you are going to be purchasing the 1K from a store the SURE FIRE way to know is by moving any of the 4 pads on the corners. The upgraded set will move the corresponding pads. The old style are individual so moving one doesnt affect the nearest pad. Just a heads up.

Could be that customs is holding your package hostage...

anything going thru customs is at the mercy of their schedule. The sellers can do nothing to affect this process.
