whats good.. why do i have to hit them pads so **** hard to get a "half reasonable" level? im not talkin bout Full Level. i gotta hit the pads real hard when Full Level is off and the velocity meter n the menu (Other > Pads) still goes up to like 30 % !! wtf. when full level is on everythings fine tho but i want my fingers 2 dictate the velocity...
yeah i got the upgraded pads on my 1000bk (one sheet n everything) + JJ OS1
God bless

How long have you had the sampler? I had the same problem and I totally understand how frustrating it is but once you break it in, you should be golden. If you happen to be sitting next to it try putting a lot of pressure on the pads with your palm or fist. Just a little way to work the new gear in.

Well don't step on it or anything but whatever you can do to break the pads in.

in the PAD settings [MODE + PAD10, F4]... select ALL [F6] and set the number on top to 25 on all pads... then move the cursor to the left to where it says PAD ON LEVELl and set it at 1. see if that helps... i hadn't set the pad on level before and it makes a big difference with the new pads.

yeah i set a different the pad velocity right after i got JJ OS. i get 127 on full level without pushing pads hard or anything.. the problem is that when full level is off, i wouldnt get the right velocity even if i stepped on the mp

I have these (new pads right?)

And settings like this

And I also have to really whack em when full level is off (i'm comparing the MPC pads to the Axiom25 pads)

Is there anything I can do, upgrade to OS2xl?

yea u got the new pads and this setting on jjos1 lets ya barely touch the pad on the mp to get the sound. but thats on full level. when i turn full level off the pressure/velocity bar doesnt go too high wen i hit them pads. whats up wit that?

my first thought would have been the faulty sensors but the mpc is brand new and apparently im not the only one wit the problem??

is it common or we're just unlucky individuals???

If you have the waranty, take it back. Those are the new pads, and they are set right. If not, send it directly to Akai. That's what I'd do. Good luck.

what up? so i decided to send my mp in and get it serviced while its still under warranty.. before i did that tho i loaded up the defualt Akai OS (cause i normally i use JJ OS 1). guess what? i dont have that problem at all on Akai OS!! i can easily get the highest velocity (127). so i loaded up the JJ os and the problem came back... i mean wtf? I tried restoring it to the factory defaults, I've updated the JJ os to the newest version (nov '09).. no luck
it looks like a software issue then? if i did send it in, they would say everything is alright... cause it was on the Akai os... not on JJ tho...

Do you have the Note on set to 1? This had me messed up for a minute. All of the other settings need to be all the way up, but this one needs to be all the way down
