help with turntable please( vestax handytrax)

Hi, I'm new to turntables and I got a Vestax Handy trax, when I turn the volume up I get huge feedback , I have my monitors allways at the higher volume, and if I go more than half volume on the handy trax I ll get this feedback, also, I get lots of white noise when I'm not plying a record.I have it conected directly to my MPC1000 , but I also tryied going directly to my M-audio monitors.It's all this normal? does the Numark PT 01 do the same thing? Recomendations are welcome.
I need a lite weight turntable with good sound quality.
