Midi Help

I recently bought an MPC 1000 and upon plugging it into my computer via midi I found the pads did not correspond with the virtual pads of my DAW. For instance I hit pad 9 on my MPC and on my virtual pad it thinks I'm hitting pad 13. As well as this the samples on my DAW won't even play when I control with the MPC. If anyone can help me out it'd be very appreciated.

In the midi/sync menu hit the 'Note' pad. Place the right notes underneath the right pads. They're not in chromatic order by default.

if one is to cahnge the pads TOO chromatic order, can this be saved.......? Via a .PGM file i suppose...... am i correct in my thinking?

sweet....i knew you could change associated notes, wasn't sure about preserving.......

now I won't have to hunt for those missing REX slices........

my question thought is even though the pads are chromatic by default, then how come 16 level tunes pitched chromatically when a sample is mapped to a pad........?

I understand that they aren't identical. Just found the MPC root midi note assignments non-linear and was questioning the logic in it.


BTW i couldn't save the chromatic .pgm (says No wave data).....DUH, I just want to save a program with new note assignments. Have you encountered this.....?

I have been able to put them into chromatic order but there is still no sound coming from my computer when I play a sample on my computer with the MPC as a midi device. Any ideas to that?
