Suggestions for MIDI devices

I have been using my MPC 1000 for a while now, just sampling through crate diggin so far. I havent gotten sick of sampling (by far) But I am beginning to become interested in these sound modules and midi devices though. I have yet to try it. I just want to know if anyone has some suggestions for what I could get as far as like sound module (software) and midi controllers. I know Reason is pretty poupular. Im looking for something that is not rocket science to use too.. feel me. Let me know whats up pls.

I use Fruity Loops 9. It is pretty simple once you get down the basic knowledge and are able to navigate. Most programs are going to be pretty complex at first, you will need to take time to understand them. I would try Fruity Loops and look online for tutorial videos.
