Just copped a mpc1k for $600 used...came with gc warranty, stand, cables, 128mb(i think its the largest right?), JJ.Os1, and 2gb CF

I think it was a good deal...

Im coming from Sp505 sampler and was a bit intimidated at first with so many features and buttons and words i hadnt familiarized yet...but i just dove in head first and made my 2nd beat last night with this french sample i dug up..

The 505 was so easy to learn and is extremely fun...i loved that it was like a toy...i could take anywhere, i could play in my bed or on my couch or in mykitchen...the fx were killer loved the compression and resamplin was fast and easy...choppin was a bit tuffer but could be done well with time...also had a warm sound to it and could sample in lofi, long, or standard quality...

The MPC on the other hand feels extremely professional to me(and heavy)...and wont let me take it to the bathroom to make beats on the toliet...still havent figured out the saving thing so the mpc stays on all day...i love the note repeat and choppin on this thing ...hate the fact that the compressor is way weak on this one...and last thing i need to get used to is how hard the pads are no cushion at all....its like im hitting the hard cheap rubber...like an eraser...looks like its gonna make a man out of my fingers

Stay tuned for more beats from chicago...
