V. 2.12 problem Help!

Alright I just updated my mpc on akaipro.com V. 2.12... I dragged it on to my flash Card and istalled it correctly. My question is does it only work on that Flash card that I put it on? and everytime I turn it on do i have to keep installing it holding down the windows key then rec button? also on chop shop it takes forever and it freezes up on me when trying to covert? HEELLLPP!!

Are you asking because this is what is happening to you? Other than that once the 2.12 is installed, it should just hold and every time you load your loading 2.12.


Where did you get the machine? Ebay or something? I only ask becuase of the second part of your question... you mentioned the freeze, what is the memory that is installed? Check the bottom of the machine for a small door and see if "extended" memory is seated properly.

I bought it at Samash Music, it came with the akai exten...memory chip, no HD and it was V 2.11.

Every time I go into chop-shop and try to chop up my samples it takes forever then when I try to convert the chops it says "Wait..." then it goes into like a matrix kind of thing with all these weird things going up and down then it Freezes on me.

Now if I use the CF where I installed the V2.12 it will not do that...

Honestly I just want to go back to its original OS can I uninstall the V2.12 anyhow?

Look for and read about v3.09
It's a free software update to the OG akai OS and is/has a more improved OS. Let me know how you make out.
I don't want to tell you to go back to the 2.11 that was there because that has flaws also. Look around this site for JJOS and read as much as you can (handle) without getting overwhelmed.

also will the free version of jj os work with the 1000 pad upgrade?

yes... JJOS will work with all MPC1000s no matter what pads they have installed.

yeah man go with the free jjos, ive been using that one and its just been alot better, I recommend that you upgrade.
