I'm kinda freaking out a bit. I recently bought a used MPC1000(JJ OS1 V. 4.99) with a 2gig CF, USB Cable and the power cable... overall it looked like a good buy. Now the problem is; everytime i select the "LOAD" option, it freezes. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong (it's a simple procedure), or it's not reading the card right, i'm not sure what's wrong, all I know is that it's freezing on me and I don't know why. I've looked all over the web the past couple of days looking for some sort of troubleshoot, but I find nothing similar to what I'm looking for. The dude that sold it to me told me to make sure the card is pushed all the way in... I tried it last night, and it can't go in any further.

Does anybody know what may be wrong with my MPC1000?
any advice is greatly appreciated... Thanks!

I would try and back up what you have on the cf card if you can(USB Mode or Card Reader). If you don't have anything on it or if you are not bothered what's on it, i would format it(with MPC).

Hope this helps

Correct me if I'm wrong but, it's the CF card itself. It's corrupted and there's nothing you can do about it but get a new one. My son ejected my 8gig card while I was loading a program and that corrupted mines.

I would try and format it with the MPC. if it doesn't work then you will have to buy a new one. If you are in the US, Try radioshack or Amazon. They go cheap on Amazon. If in the UK, try Cash Generators or Maplin. I picked up a 2Gb for £10 from Cash G. Good luck

sounds like the card reader...

a similar thing happened with mine when i bought it - also second
hand... it had been poorly packed and in transit the ribbon cable
from the card reader had shaken loose. it could be something as
simple as this - or it could need replacing.

don't be afraid to have a look inside if you feel confident enough.
just don't mess with anything you don't understand! the ribbon
cable is obvious and if you wanted you could just check if its loose.

good luck dude!
