Looping a sample with out holding down a pad.

I was just fooling around one night when i discoverd something. If you hold down a looped sample and while holding down press F3 or F4 (move to another track on the main menu.) you can let go of the pad and it will be looped,. Pretty nice. I dont know if any one Mentioned this all ready. But here you go again if they did, Try it out.

i cant get it to work from what screen can u do this so i hit the pad and then f3 at the same time and then let go of both im confuse : ?

I had the same thing happen when I switched Program while a sample was playing. It was a looped sample, so it kept on playing until I sent the same MIDI note in.

Changing tracks while holding a pad diverts the NOTE OFF signal somewhere else so the sample engine does not shut off the sample. This is not really an MPC `trick` but applies to just any midi module.

TheBeatSmith, On the main screen When you hit the loop sample, hold down on the pad then press f3 to change the track Make sure its a different program tho, then you let go of the held pad and its looped. you can go back to the track its looping from and hit it again to stop the loop.

ok now i need help getting a sample to loop lol i can get it to loop in the trim option but not in the main how can i do that ? im still new to the mpc as u can tell
