hi out there!

it would be cool if the note repeat button would stay in function without holding it, so one can play with both hands free in that mode (look mom...no hands..;).
is that possible?

Not sure about on the 1000 but I thought i'd bring this up. I saw kanye west working on a 2000 on his diary of K West on mtv he was just holding the pad down and it was repeating those fast congos he does. I didnt see him pressing the note repete..I dont know if you can do this on the 1000 though. Maybe?

i'm pretty sure you can't. either i or some1 else asked this question cause we really wanted to know also. it would be dope if there was a hold function, but alas there isn't. just try and spread your fingers all over the shit. i made a song last night where parts of the song i was holding down the f1 time correct button, the note repeat button, change the note repeat rate with the silver dial, while doing a melody. try it. you can do some amazing stuff. do it over and over cause it takes a bit to get your fingers used to doing that.

thats the way I´m playing with the machine too: spreading my fingers on its back, holding the note repeat and meanwhile changing the note value, using the q-link and smoking: seems like I'm busy ;).

i think the guy on mtv may did it with the loop function...

On my Mpc 60II i just used a footswitch which was great!!! but i cant seem to get it to work on my 1000.I was hoping it was a broken pedal because its hard to keep my 4 yr old son who thinks he is producer out of my studio. If someone can try to connect a footswitch to it and assign it to the tap tempo function please post results.

I connected my footswitch to the MPC 1000 last night and assigned it to the tap tempo function and it does just that -- I can set the tempo with the footswitch. But, it doesn't work as a note repeat. I'm thinking it's because the footswitch is a latch and not momentary. Maybe if you have a momentary footswitch you can leave it pressed down for note repeat? I ended up setting it to REC/PUNCH. That's the most useful for me.

on the 2kXL you hold Note Repeat and press Shift whilst its playing and it holds.

doesnt work on the MPC1000 though it might be added in Os updates

Yeah, do you think they will add the option on a new os update so you can use note repeat without holding it down, it would be nice to free up a hand.

more like: ...to free up one finger. You can still use the rest of your fingers and just keep one on the note repeat.
