-sorry if in the wrong spot-
I recently copped an mpc 1k off the homie for 350. only flaw is he painted over it with a thick coat of white to make it look like the original colorway. not fellin' it too much so i want to know if anyone knows how to strip the top coat of paint.
i researched around and found that some ppl used Oven cleaner to strip paint or paint thinner then sanding or metal bristled brush off the paint. is this safe for the mpc faceplate.
dont have access to post pics right now but any advice would be helpful, thanks.

maybe vstservice has some?

but honestly, i would just put a request here in the GEAR WANTED section... i'm sure a lotta people had the blue case, upgraded to the black at some point, and have an extra blue case laying around that could be painted...

Mudvillain, at first glance your Mp kind of looks like something Emu related. Like something they may have released in the eighties. The problem with these types of mods is the lack of labeling or text. Even when you know well what each button is for it still just doesn't look right. It just looks like something is missing. Also, I painted a guitar once, and I just wasn't able to make it look like it was done in the factory. Same thing with an MPC. It's just hard to make them look like they weren't done in a garage. I do like it though!

No problem my man. I really like the replacement caps on the Qlink sliders. Where did you get those?
Did you ever see PoundaProblems 1k? It looks just like a military issued Mp. Amazing work on that one. In fact, the green screen is perfect on it... I don't have a link, just keep an eye out for it. I'd love to have mine done like that. Again though, there's the text issue. What can you do. Another I really like is Nym's old Mp 1000. The one that looked like it had been found in the ashes of a burnt building, but somehow still worked. I think I read that he just sanded it and it all just kind of smeared together. That's one where the text missing works. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you can see it in a few of his videos... I sure wish that dude was still around. Beta tester extraordinare right there. Anyways... Peace and good luck,

how much would an mpc cost to get professionally painted at a body shop.. with the same process that they use to paint a car.. ive always been interested in making a template for the text if i could find a solution of how to put the text on the mp.. i remember this thread viewtopic.php?f=15&t=121789 and wanted to look into what he did for the lettering.. my my first mpc case was pretty banged up and looked ass, but since ive picked up a new mp and im not interested in altering the appearance quite yet..

i wanted to make the 1k look like a 2500LE with carbon fiber sides and the whole 9...
