Can I add more sounds to the autoload memory?

Is there a way that I can add more sounds into my autoload memory or do I have to load the sounds into the MPC every single time? Also, I want to make programs and keep them in the external memory, is that possible? I have 16MB of ram right now but I will most likely upgrade to 128MB.

if your connected to a computer just drag them to the autoload file and you can even delete those in the autoload folder that you dont want....if you have 16 mb memory definetly delete or store the unused things from Autoload to save memory on the mpc

There are 2 types of Autoload:
There is an autoload feature that loads everything that if finds on the flash card inside the AUTOLOAD folder.
There also is an Autoload folder that is on the integrated flash memory inside the MPC. But I thing the only way to save into this one is to save as All seq & songs or Entire Memory. You wont be able to save individual samples or programs.

OK cool, so I can save sequences to autoload but not samples and programs. I can't save many with the 16MB but if I get the 128MB expansion, I can save a lot more correct?

No no no, you got it all wrong. IF you wanna save into the internal memory, you can't chose what you save, it will save everything. I don't remember exactly what were the options there, but go tho the Save screen and select Internal Memory on the top, and then see what you can save.

This was for the INTERNAL MEMORY. If you are talking about the autoload folder that is on your CF card, then there you can save whatever you want, BUT it will load everything that is in it anyway.

If by saying "128MB expansion" you mean a bigger CF card, then you are right. You will be able to save more stuff. But don't confuse bigger CF cards with memory expension modules ( the 128MB of RAM). The RAM is when you want to LOAD more stuff at the same time, the bigger CF cards are for savig your stuff.

OK, I see. So I think I just need a bigger CF card then. My problem is this, I hate having to load all my sounds and programs and sequences in everytime I boot up the MPC. What do you usually do?

then just put everyting that you want to load into the autoload folder on your cf card. The card has to be inserted when you boot up.

Cool, thanks for all your help. Now, if I upgraded my CF card to a 256 or something like that. I can just copy all my files over from my standard 32MB and then go from there. Is that right? This is my last question I promise.

yea, just copy your stuff to the bigger card and you will be able to access it the same way as before.
