TROUBLE RECORDING THE LEFT AND RIGHT SOUNDS

WHEN I PLUG IN MY TURNTABLE/MIXER INTO MY MPC 1000 TO SAMPLE VINYL, I ONLY GET THE LEFT SIDE RECORDING AND THE RIGHT SIDE ONLY SHOWS A VERY LOW VOLUME OF AUDIO, WHILE THE LEFT IS AT THE NORMAL VOLUME. IS THIS A PROBLEM WITH MY MPC (RECORD IN CONNECTIONS) , OR IS IT A PROBLEM WITH THE CORDS IM USING WHICH IS AN RCA CORD FROM MY MIXER CONNECTED TO AN 1/8 ADAPTER AND INTO THE RECORD IN ON THE BACK OF MY MPC. I TESTED IF BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT CHANNELS WERE PLAYING FROM MY TURNTABLE AND THEY WERE, BUT ONLY THE LEFT SIDE IS RECORDED ON MY MPC..... HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED

it sounds like you only have a single lead, is that right? there are two RECORD IN sockets.

assuming you have connected the L and R inputs, what happens if you swap them over? if it's a problem with the MPC then swapping them over won't change anything, you'll still only get the left side recorded. If swapping them over means you only get the right side, then the MPC is working OK and the problem is with the leads or the mixer.

P.S. your caps lock key appears to be stuck

because that's a stereo jack, which won't work

you need separate mono jacks for L and R, so you either want two of these:



or a lead with two RCA at one end and two 1/4 jacks at the other end

correction* im using 1/4 adaptors ,

when i record into my mpc the left side's volume is normal, but the right sides volume only goes a little less than half way. is it a problem with my mpc, or with the cables ?

ok, so if you try swapping the L and R then you can tell if the problem is with the MPC or the input signal
