transferred it to your laptop? do you mean to a CF card? or to the MPC?

if you can't get to the LOAD screen you won't be able to install the new OS

are you pressing MODE then PAD2 (not just PAD2) ?

yea i downloaded onto my laptop of course then threw it on my mpc

then went into LOAD screen successfully but when i go to press LOAD it doesnt do anything.

my friend even threw in his memory card with all the updates on it and there was still no response...

any clues...

you think my mp is just worn out to the point of no return?

you don't press LOAD when you're on the load screen ... the white LOAD tab along the bottom tells you the page you're on. The black tabs (SAVE, UTIL, USB) tell you the other pages available. Press DO IT to actually load something

actually ignore that - I'm thinking of the JJOS load screen, I think on the Akai OS it does say LOAD, sorry

maybe your f5 button needs replacing :(

which jjos are you using and which file did you download? something tells me you might be trying to install an update for the wrong version...

well i bought my mp around 5 years ago. and i've never tried upgrading...

and the jj os i tried downloading was the recent free version.

i was told i should try to download the newer OS from Akai? and then try upgrading the jj OS...

hopefully that'll work.

my mp needs a lotta work all around...its gettin jenky.
