remove and install new memory?

hey all,

so i bought the akai 128mb memory for 140.00 bucks when i bought my mpc.

had i known about these boards, i never would have!

here's my question: i've already installed the memory. if i get the 256mb memory chip, is it safe to remove the old chip and install the new one?

i dont see why not, the memory clears on power off..
are you gonna put on eBay and hope some sucker bids on the akai memory..

nah, i'm gonna package it back up and try to return it.

bought it at guitar center. think they have a 15 day return policy.

just gotta make it look like i never took it out of the package.

You can see, they wont give you cash tho itll be a check. And they might make you exchange. Also, why do you want to get rid of the Akail RAM?

i dont blame him my RAM cost $20.00 on ebay.. its IBM

yea, hopefully he doesnt buy the wrong RAM and end up with issues or flat out incompatibility.

there's a guy on ebay that sells the RAM chip that works with the MPC500/1000/or 2500 for just $12.50 shipped. i've bought from him twice and he ships the same day... great deal and i've never had any issues with the chips. i'd definitely try to return to the AKAI one if possible.
