Lame ass mpc!

hopefully that subject caught ya eye! I bought an mpc 1000 bout year and half ago (first one). i bought it second hand.....

Already one of my bar/step buttons broke! But the real problem is my outs and main volume. When i started to learn how to track out i think some of my outs crackle from time to time. And with my main volume i cant have it turned up past 1/4 mark at most!! If i do, the sounds crackles big time and red lines. HAS ANY ONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM?? ITS NOT the levels on my desk or soundcard.......is this the way the new mpc's go after a while......

my friends who works in a gc said he can get me a brand new 5000 for 980quid witch is a steal but i was looking at getting a 4000 but what are peoples thought on the sound quality of the two, is their really much of a difference....also the 4000 wouldnt be new

any thoughts, opinions, comments are really wanted.

you could clean the outputs, or it could be you have the input set to high so when you turn up your main volume it just cracks
(but thats probably wrong)

and where are you getting a 4000 new exactly? id go with a 2500 over a 5000

Internal setting on the output may be too high. Try -6

without sounding like a salesman, try cleaning the outputs with a little deoxit..

No BS. I took my Motif in a few years ago because it was crackling. Repair shop said it was going to be in the $400-$500 range. I bought the deoxit, cleaned all the connections with a q tip and saw the gunk causing the issue

Yeah, That stuff just "Fixed" all my Tack switches. Works real smooth now.

what is deoxit, where can i buy it from?
