Creating the final mix

So I have the makin' beats part down. But I'm still not sure about creating the final mix. Right now I basically record the whole song at once into Sound Forge. I'd like to work with separate tracks and all that but I've never done that before. Even if I have the whole song self-contained on my MPC 1000, I still only have four separate outs and those are pads. So how do you all record your mix?

Export each track seperatly to cool edit or pro tools, or cubase, or traktion or whatever you use then mix from there. Bam its that simple.

Will it sound better if I record each track separately than if I record the whole song at once? I have Sound Forge and Acid Pro. Has anybody here ever tried syncing Sound Forge to their MPC so each track starts recording at the same place? It would be a bit time-consuming to record each track separately, but if it sounds better, it'd be worth it. Then I could import each track into Acid Pro to create the song.

I am having the same problem I use E live and started using Acid 4.0 which is mad hot...anyone who could help please holla!!!!

i'm about to lay some of my live set down for a new ep and am simply recording the loops into soundforge and then making the tunes up in Logic... i love writing stuff on the MPC, but for proper production i need to have the sort of control logic gives me... to record the stuff into sounforge i just hit record and play on the MPC at the same time, or usually hit play a little bit later so that i dont miss nutthink and then i chop the audio. another way of doing it is just to jam into soundforge/acid and then keep the good bits, i know a few people who do this.
