recording midi notes and audio simultaneously?

Hello people,

I can't find anything in the manual that pertains to this so I thought I'd ask you guys.

Do you know if there's a way to get the MPC to simultaneously record the midi 'triggerings' from a midi keyboard, while at the same time having the Mode/Pad 5 record function recording the audio of a sound module (which is being triggered by the midi keyboard)?

I seem to only be able to do one or the other.

Not simultaneously.

If I'm correct u can sequence ur midi events first, then play it back and record the audio with direct recording or using an audio track.

So it sounds like I can still achieve the end result I want, I'll just have to do an extra cord swapping each time.
