is it the pad or a hardware problem

i recently bought a old blue mpc1000 with the old pads and i have noticed that the sounds might go off without me touching the pads, just wondering is this the pad issue, or a hardware, thanks i plan on gettting new pads also

Could be a pad or a bad connection/connector problem.

You could try to open the MPC and disconnect/reconnect all connectors to see if that will help.

a cpu address error just came up today also, any help, i read an older post and it seemed like there are cheap connections between the boards, how can i fix that?
