I forgot how to do this??

I feel stupid. I used to have an MPC 2000. Sold it and recently bought an MPC 1000. I was trying to figure out how to take like a snare and a clap sound, combine them together but make the clap hit a little later than the snare, like "In the Club" By 50 Cent. I can't remember how to do it!! Is it in the step edit Mode on the MPC 1000? Appreciate any help I can get!

or you can do it in seq edit by moving the whole track a bit. This way is alot faster.

i'm trying the same thing as jturn, to lay back a shaker and clap.

easy ish, check it out:

just go to seq edit screen
select COPY in Edit field, and REPLACE in Mode field. The Time on the left side you set it as, 001.01.00 - 005.01.00 , and the time on the right, is where you want the whole track to be moved. So exemple: 001.01.24 .

That's it.

Coming at it from a different angle: you could insert a little silence at the beginning of the Clap sample, so you can put both samples on the same Pad, trigger both at the same time... but the Clap comes in a little later.

Personally, I keep as far away from "The Clap" as humanly possible...
