Using MPC1k like a sampler keyboard...possible ?

It's my first post, i've used the search button but couldn't found my answer so I'll post...
I've starded to use an MPC 10 years ago with the MPC2k and right after with the MPC 4k...it was nice but too big for touring...so I've stop using MPC on stage...now I need to be back with an MPC so I've bought the MPC1k...really nice BUT i was shocked to see that it doesn't work with the AKsys (really usefull when you're working for your live shows)
So my question is :
I'm using a MicroKorg to play some bassline during our shows, as I want to reduce my setup for travelling I wonder if it's possible to use the MPC1k like a keyboard sampler. I know with the MPC4k you can do that and Aksys was helpfull, also the MPC 2k use to read AKAI S1k programs..But know no Aksys and no AKAI S1k/3k banks...
Can I create my Synth bass sound and mapping it to my Midi Keyboard (microkontrol) easily ?
Do I need to sample each note of my Microkorg and assign to the keyboard notes ? maybe do I need to use the "chromatic mode" ?

You can create programs just like on the S-series samplers with JJOS.

just sample a note (like C) from your microkorg. Assign the sample to a program and use the 16 levels button, then set it to tune. Then pick which pad you want the original note to be at. This will automatically map out the sample in incremental/decremental steps to each pad..

just be aware that it sounds like total garbage for most things however that mostly only is noticeable if more then one note is pushed so you hear the reference (difference)

that is basically just pitching it to various notes... maybe you want to sample an octave or so right off the bat.

You should also note that the 1k is monotimbral... so you can only play one program at a time unfortunately. Other than that though you should be able to do what you want with a little effort.
