ok, first post though i have been referring to mpc-forums for a while now...
i had a mpc500 for some time and bumped up to the 1000 about 3 months ago. i love the machine and am devastated that i cant get it running properly right now.
a few days ago, while in record mode listening to some vinyl i was about to make the next heater out of(haha) i look down at the mpc to hit record(f6) and find that both q link slider buttons are lit up as well as the "window","rec", and "full level" buttons. so i turn the machine off and back on. upon startup everything seems normal, load screen appears for the factory sounds and such but the same thing happens..frozen. when pressing the lit up qlink buttons, instead of turning off they light up the pad bank buttons, pressing "mode" lights up the "undo seq" button..etc. next i tried starting it up without my akai flash card in but got the same result.
i am running the latest akai OS (2.13) but i had tried the free jj and had to go back to the akai for obvious reasons. im aware it is in my best interest to pay for jj, just hasnt happened yet.
i tried starting up while holding erase. i would go through the quick process of reinstalling the OS to my mpc but as i said before i cant press mode and get to the usb connection screen. i also tried starting it up while holding the "window" key and got the boot block ver 1.03, im very frustrated and feeling quite lost at this point, i called akai and was referred to a repair place but i would like to try and figure this out on my own, hopefully with the help of someone here. thank you for your time.
