Unplugging mpc1k?

Just a couple quick questions:

Is it bad for the mpc to unplug it or turn off a power strip, rather than using the on/off switch?

Also: Is it bad to leave the power cord plugged in, with the mpc turned off? I'm just asking becaue I've had AC adapters get extremely hot from being left plugged in, even if the device it powers is off.

don't turn it on/off with your power strip, that's a little risky, however, it's prefectly safe to leave it plugged in, notice it's a standard edison cable (not a wall wart) so the transformer is inside the machine and the power switch breaks the circuit before any electricity reaches the transformer. No danger of overheating.
