Hi Guys !
I bought my 1K one month ago and have lot of fun with it.
Ive got 2 questions, certainly basic ones ...
1. Pad assign : I assign samples to pads, and save the program to the memory card (SAVE - SAVE ALL PROGRAMS AND SAMPLES), to a new folder. No problem. Then I shut down my 1K, and try to load program (LOAD - ALL FILES). Program and samples are loaded, but pad assign has disapeared ...
I did the test with MPC Editor : import AKP file prepared with Recycle. Pad assign is automatic in MPC Editor interface. I export the PGM file (with samples) to a 2000XL format file. No problem. I send everything (PGM+samples) to my 1K using USB, to a new folder. Then I load the files (LOAD - ALL FILES). Program and samples are loaded, but pad assign has disapeared ...
Any way to keep pad assign information ??

2. USB : when I connect my 1K to the PC, the message "Please do not remove ..." is displayed. Fine, I first shut down USB connection on my PC. But the message still remains on 1K screen...
Any way to go back to the main window on the 1K, without disconnecting USB cable ??

"Program and samples are loaded, but pad assign has disapeared "

Are you certain that the PGM file was loaded? If there are no pad assignments, how do you know? Have you tried selecting Load PGM only from the Load screen? Loading `ALL` may not be loading PGM's.

"Any way to go back to the main window on the 1K, without disconnecting USB cable ?? "

No. I use a separate reader for the computer so I can just remove and insert the cards at any time without digging into menu's.

Thanks mpc3000 !!

1) I made a test again, and realized what was the problem... After Loading a PGM + samples, I forgot to select it in the main window (it was still showing "Pgm:Program01", which is the default empty one...). I just turned it to the PGM I prepared in PGM Creator, and Pad assign is OK. Shame on me !

2) Got it ! I have also a separate reader for the memory card. But it is strange to me that Akai people did not consider this like a problem ... Maybe will be fixed in a coming upgrade of the OS ..?

It is not a problem. Akai just makes sure that you cannot read/write to the CF card at the same time with a PC and MPC. The MPC is `locked` in a screen to do transfers to ensure this. Simultaneous writing from both master devices would just be asking for trouble (well, you could add additional OS programming to minimize issues, but this is the budget model).
