NEED SOME HELP ANNOYING DIALOGUE SCREEN PLEASE

Hello everybody this is my 1st post here maybe it's a newbie question but I gotta solve this...
In my MPC1000 (runnin jjOS2XL latest version) when I chop a sample It always says INSUFFICIENT MEMORY!!!
I can´t understand this since I bought a new 4gb CF card (Sandisk) and the card is empty...I don´t know what else
i gotta do to chop the freakin sample....if anybody could help me I would appreciate a lot !!!!!!!!

I havent expanded to 128mb so its only 16mb does this thing have to do something with the fact that i cant chop¿?¿?¿

yes. compact flash has NOTHING TO DO with memory [aka RAM]. get the 128mb upgrade on the cheap on ebay [doesn't have to be akai brand] and call it a day...
