Today I was at a music store nearby to try samplers. As I already told you I am considering buying a sampler, but never had one. I tried MPC500 and Korg ESX1. By some reason their MPC1000 was not working properly at the moment.
What really disappointed me with MPC500 was that I had to apply lot of force on the pads of MPC500 in order to get sound. True, pads were velocity sensitive, but sensitivity was not much. I felt almost like I must drum on them, which was not the point I want a sampler. In other hand the ESX1 pads needed just a little touch to react.
I asked the guy there about the sensitivity setup, he did something but said this is the way to be. So I was really frustrated. Looking Youtube videos of MPC1000 does not seem so hard.
So question:
Is sensitivity of the pads adjustable? I don't want to hit/drum the sampler in order to get sound. Otherwise my electronic drums are better.
